College Football Rankings 2020: Projected AP Top 25 for Week 10
By Zach Bigalke
Boise State improved to 2-0 after the Mountain West returned to fall play, taking down Air Force on the road in Colorado Springs 49-30 on Saturday evening. The game lost some of its luster when Air Force lost the previous weekend, but it nevertheless put the Broncos in position to consolidate their position in the AP Top 25 and keep their name in the hat for a New Year’s Six bid as the top Group of Five team.
USC transfer Jack Sears had a huge game at quarterback, throwing for 280 yards and three touchdowns on 17-of-20 passing. Andrew Van Buren racked up two ground scores and piled on 70 rushing yards to offer some solid balance to the offense. Boise State’s defense gave up 415 rushing yards but never allowed Air Force to get any aerial attack going over the top.
Now Boise State turns its attention toward a huge matchup of non-Power Five programs when BYU comes to play on the Smurf Turf in Week 10. The winner of that game will have real momentum heading into the heart of November, and could spark some real debate for the College Football Playoff selection committee.
