3. FAU (vs. Western Kentucky)

Conference USA presents the Willie Taggart Bowl, as his current team is going to take on his first team in college football. He turned Western Kentucky around, inheriting a winless team and turning them to a seven-win squad by the time left for South Florida.

FAU isn’t a reclamation project for Taggart, though. They won C-USA last season and come in favored to beat Western Kentucky.

Here’s FAU’s issue. They’ve been dealing with major COVID-19 protocol issues. It’s November, they’ve had games scheduled since September, and have only played in three games. In all of those games they’ve been missing players.

The Owls are not playing to their full potential yet, and who could blame them under those circumstances? It’s a new staff on limited practice and inconsistent game time. This leaves Western Kentucky open to take advantage of FAU’s rustiness. If the Hilltoppers can get anything going on offense, or catch a break in special teams, they’ll be able to get FAU on their heels.
