1. San Diego State (vs. San Jose State)

San Diego State has been one of the steadiest Mountain West programs of the past decades. They’ve done it by coming at opponents with a bigger, stronger, simply better offensive line and running it down your throat. San Jose State, over that same time period, has been a roller coaster with more downward turns than uphill climbs.

Both teams come in 2-0, but few are giving San Jose State much of a shot to get out with a win over their in-state rival. They have a weapon in their back pocket, though. Nick Starkel, who spent time at Arkansas and Texas A&M has been excellent for the Spartans through two games. San Jose State will need to ride on his back to score enough to beat the Aztecs.

It won’t be easy, but if San Jose State can control the pace of the game with San Diego State, they’ll be able to upset the Aztecs.
