College Football Rankings 2020: Projected AP Top 25 for Week 11
By Zach Bigalke
Iowa State came back from a 21-10 halftime deficit to pull out a 38-31 win over Baylor on Saturday evening in Ames. With the victory the Cyclones move to 5-2 and remain a half-game ahead of Oklahoma State in the Big 12 standings. Matt Campbell’s team will remain firmly planted atop the league standings and safely embedded somewhere in the mid-teens of the AP Top 25 for another week.
Brock Purdy took charge of the offense, racking up 164 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions on 15-of-24 passing. Breece Hall churned out 133 yards and two touchdowns on the ground on 33 bruising carries. The two Big 12 foes were nearly identical in terms of offensive production, but Iowa State got the better end of the situation in the end.
Improving to 5-2 overall and 5-1 in league play, the Cyclones control their own fate in the race to finish in the top two of the Big 12 standings and play for the conference crown. After taking off Week 11, Iowa State hosts Kansas State after Oklahoma State knocked them out of the three-way tie atop the Big 12 race.
