812. 2-0. 3. leading 35-3 vs. Rutgers at halftime. Ohio State Buckeyes. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

By halftime of their Week 10 showdown at home against Rutgers, Ohio State was already up 35-3 and rolling to their third big victory of the season. The Buckeyes will remain locked in the top three of the AP Top 25 for another week, and they could even start to pick up first-place votes in the poll if they continue to maintain their dominant form. Ryan Day’s team hasn’t been hurt at all yet by the Big Ten’s late start.

Justin Fields already boasted 232 passing yards and four total touchdowns by the time the two teams went to intermission at the Horseshoe. Aside from Fields fortifying his Heisman case, the backfield racked up a combined 123 yards led by the 46 yards and rushing touchdown posted by Master Teague III. The Ohio State defense locked down the Scarlet Knights, giving up only 83 first-half yards to visiting Rutgers as the home side pulled away for a decisive lead in the first 30 minutes.

Now 3-0 in the Big Ten East, Ohio State can’t get caught looking ahead as they head into Week 11 and a road trip to Maryland. After it looked like Penn State and possibly Michigan would be their biggest competition in the division race this year, the East will now likely come down to a November 21 duel in Columbus between the Buckeyes and Indiana.
