Pick Analysis. 8-0. Notre Dame Fighting Irish. 2. player. Scouting Report. won 45-31 at Boston College. 819

Notre Dame overcame a slow start on the road to pull away for a 45-31 victory at Boston College on Saturday evening. The win kept the Fighting Irish undefeated and atop the ACC standings for another week, and it could even pick up a first-place vote or two. Despite the win, though, Brian Kelly’s team will remain locked in at No. 2 when the next AP Top 25 is released on Sunday.

Ian Book went 20-of-27 for 283 yards and three touchdowns, adding 10 carries for 85 yards and a ground score for good measure. Kyren Williams led Notre Dame’s running backs with 74 yards, while C’Bo Flemister punched in two touchdowns and finished with 53 yards. Notre Dame’s defense held former Irish quarterback Phil Jurkovec to 272 yards with two touchdowns and a pick on 18-of-40 passing. More impressively, the Irish held the Eagles to only 85 rushing yards.

The win prevented Notre Dame from slipping up after making their statement a week earlier against Clemson. In their unique season as an ACC member, the Irish are the last undefeated team standing in the league and need only win out against North Carolina, Syracuse, and Wake Forest to ensure a spot in the conference title game. If they win the ACC in their lone chance to do so, Notre Dame is definitely locked into a College Football Playoff spot.
