1. Notre Dame made the right choice of Ian Book over Phil Jurkovec

It seems like all Notre Dame fans have put more stock into how well Phil Jurkovec has done for the Eagles than how well Ian Book has done for the Irish.

Today, in likely their only meeting, Book proved to everyone that he is the right guy for the job. This was looked at by some as a game that could have been a major letdown, but Book refused to let that happen.

Jurkovec looked fantastic at times, making some great decisions and perfect throws. Unfortunately those throws were matched shot for shot with throws that were short of the receiver, which happened a few times today. Of course, drops from the Boston College receivers didn’t do Jurkovec much helps either.

The Irish defense got to Jurkovec early and often, and that clearly shook his confidence at times. Jurkovec only completed 18-of-40 passes all game.

Book played yet another solid game, completing 20-of-27 attempts for 283 yards and three passing touchdowns. Once again, the legs of Book were working as well, adding 85 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground.
