Projected 2020 College Football Playoff Top 25 rankings for Week 13
By Zach Bigalke
Notre Dame entered a scheduled idle weekend as the second-best team in the country according to the AP Top 25. As the only 8-0 team among the Power Five, the Fighting Irish will hold firm to a top-three spot when the College Football Playoff selection committee releases its first set of rankings on Tuesday evening.
The Irish followed up their overtime victory over Clemson with a relatively straightforward two-touchdown win over Boston College in Week 11. Over their first eight games Notre Dame has concedes three fewer touchdowns than their offense puts on the scoreboard. Ian Book has been steady if unspectacular at quarterback, throwing just one interception but still ranking outside the top 35 in passing efficiency.
Three games remain on Notre Dame’s schedule as they look to play for the school’s first conference championship in football. A trip to Chapel Hill to face North Carolina looms on Black Friday, with Syracuse and Wake Forest rounding out the schedule over the first two weeks of December. If the Irish win out and claim the ACC crown, they will undoubtedly land back in the Playoff for the second time in three years.
