11. Louisville Cardinals (3-6, 2-6)

The Cardinals played one of their better games of the season, defeating the Syracuse Orange 30-0 Friday night. The defense returned several starters after being out due to COVID-19 protocols. Both Javian Hawkins and Tutu Atwell are still out due to the novel coronavirus. Head coach Scott Satterfield has to like how the defense played against Syracuse, however allowing just 137 total yards. The Cardinals play Boston College on Nov. 28.

10. Virginia Cavaliers (4-4, 3-4)

The Cavaliers played their plus one this week against Abilene Christian, dominating them 55-15. This week the Cavaliers play Florida State. The Cavaliers have had their fair share of COVID-19 issues and injuries. It seems to be only now they are close to full strength.

9. Virginia Tech Hokies (4-5, 4-4)

The Hokies are in free-fall after their third straight loss. Virginia Tech was decimated by Pitt 47-14 in the COVID-19 game of the week. Pitt had 16 players out due to COVID protocols, and Virginia Tech — plagued by COVID issues all season — had 12 players out. Despite Pitt being short-handed, Virginia Tech could not stop the Panthers’ offense and could do nothing against their defense.

8. Wake Forest Demon Deacons (4-3, 3-3)

The Demon Deacons have had issues with COVID-19 outbreaks all season. Two early-season games were postponed and rescheduled for December, and this week’s game against Duke was canceled. North Carolina has been one of the states hardest hit by the COVID-19, and Wake Forest has struggled with outbreaks all season. The Demon Deacons don’t play again until Dec. 5 versus Miami.
