ACC Football Power Rankings, Week 13: Florida State flirts with bottom
By Dante Pryor
7. Pittsburgh Panthers (5-4, 4-4)
The Panthers came into their game this week against Virginia Tech with 16 players out due to COVID-19 related issues. Pitt did get quarterback Kenny Pickett back, however. That made all the difference with Pickett throwing for 404 yards and two touchdowns. The defense allowed 14 points in the second quarter, and the Hokies did not score again. The Pitt Panthers will attempt to put together a three-game winning streak against Clemson this weekend.
6. Boston College Eagles (5-4, 4-4)
It’s hard to write or talk about the Eagles and not talk glowingly about first-year head coach Jeff Hafley and the terrific job he and the coaching staff have done with a team that lacks dynamic playmakers and is understaffed. Hafley has the Eagles right where they should be, in the middle of the ACC. Their losses are against ranked teams, and their wins are against unranked teams. The Eagles record might not look much different than it has, but it feels as if their ceiling is higher with Hafley.
