Pick Analysis. 5-1. won 27-11 vs. Maryland. Indiana Hoosiers. 813. Scouting Report. 11. player

It was hardly a banner day for Indiana, and yet they still notched an easy 27-11 victory over Maryland to improve to 5-1 on the season. With Ohio State in danger of failing to play six games this season, the Hoosiers kept themselves in the hunt for the Big Ten East. More importantly, they could push closer to the top 10 of the College Football Playoff rankings this week after easily dismissing the Terrapins at home.

Michael Penix Jr. suffered a leg injury and came out of the game early, exiting 6-of-19 for 84 yards with 29 rushing yards on top of that. Jack Tuttle went 5-of-5 for 34 yards in relief, but the Hoosiers kept mostly to the ground. Tim Baldwin Jr. rushed for 106 yards, Stevie Scott III added 80 yards and three rushing touchdowns, and Indiana finished with 234 yards on the ground. The Hoosiers defense picked off Taulia Tagovailoa three times and held Maryland to 300 yards of offense.

Indiana heads on the road in Week 14 to play Wisconsin in Madison, then rounds out the regular season at home against rival Purdue in the battle for the Old Oaken Bucket. If they can win both contests, and Ohio State misses one more game, the Hoosiers will represent the East in the Big Ten championship game. The College Football Playoff could still be in play in Bloomington if Indiana wins out as an 8-1 Big Ten champion.
