Scouting Report. 873. player. Pick Analysis. 7-1. won 31-20 at Auburn. Texas A&M Aggies. 5

Texas A&M kept their name firmly inserted in the College Football Playoff discussion as they prevailed 31-20 against Auburn on the Plains in Week 14. The Aggies improved to 7-1 on the year, their only loss to top-ranked Alabama. Not only are they in the running for a New Year’s Six invitation, but Jimbo Fisher’s team has themselves positioned to take advantage of slip-ups above them to jump into the top four and claim a spot in the semifinals.

Kellen Mond was efficient in victory, throwing for 196 yards and two touchdowns on 18-of-23 passing. Mond added a rushing touchdown and churned out 60 yards on 10 carries. Isaiah Spiller led the way on the ground for the Aggies with 120 yards on 20 carries, while Devon Achane added 99 rushing yards in limited action. In total, Texas A&M simply outproduced the Auburn offense as the Aggies finished with 509 total yards of offense.

Texas A&M still has to make up two games postponed earlier in the season due to COVID-19 cases on the Aggies roster. The home finale takes place against Ole Miss in Week 15. The Aggies close out their campaign on the road against Tennessee. If they win both and finish 9-1 against an all-SEC slate, the selection committee is going to think long and hard about whether to bump the Aggies into the College Football Playoff.
