Winner: North Carolina (Up to No. 16)

In what has been a bit of an up and down year for the Tar Heels, who have appeared on both sides of this column every week, but they delivered their statement win of the season and Mack Brown’s tenure with their 62-26 beatdown of Miami on Saturday.

This game was over from the kickoff and North Carolina’s running game gashed Miami over and over. The defense did enough to shut down D’Eriq King and the Miami offense and the win should cement a spot in the New Year’s Six for the Tar Heels.

Winner: Coastal Carolina (Up to No. 9)

Another team that has appeared a number of times on this list, the Chanticleers are winners this week due to being the first ever Sun Belt team to be ranked inside of the top 10. Coastal had another thrilling win over Troy on Saturday and they moved to 11-0 on the season and will be hoping to beat Louisiana in the Sun Belt championship and for Cincinnati to fall so that they will be the ones to get the New Year’s Six bid for the Group of Five.
