Florida Football: 3 early 2021 signees who’ll have instant impacts
Jason Marshall is the highest-ranked player in the class for Florida and he’s the No. 2 cornerback in the country coming in, according to 247Sports. He’s a five-star prospect who was recruited by just about everyone and he has the look of Florida’s next NFL prospect.
Marshall shocked just about everyone when he committed to Florida over the likes of Miami and Alabama which received all of his Crystal Ball votes on 247Sports. It was a huge victory for Dan Mullen and the Gators as they stole him away from Manny Diaz and Nick Saban and must have sold him on the idea of being the next lockdown corner in Gainesville.
After the season Florida is having defensively, it needs someone like Marshall to come in and crack the playing rotation right away.
Marco Wilson (minus the shoe toss) and Kaiir Elam are decent corners, but Marshall can push both of them for snaps and should become a candidate for the all-freshman SEC team in year one. There’s a good chance he sees the field right away, especially as an early enrollee.
Marshall is ranked the No. 27 overall prospect in the 2021 class.
