One thing that stinks about this Cheez-It bowl and other bowl games is that some of the best players won’t be in action. For Miami, that means defensive ends Jaelan Phillips and Quincy Roche will be out, after each opted to focus on the NFL draft.

Oklahoma State star running back Chuba Hubbard is doing the same thing, although he has been hurt for weeks. Cowboy fans might be sad not to see Hubbard one more time, but the Miami defense is probably relieved after the Canes allowed 559 yards on the ground to North Carolina.

Yet, Hubbard has been bothered by an ankle injury and even in his absence, the Cowboys have still had a 100-yard rusher in each of their last three games.

Dezmon Jackson is just a sophomore and this will be his chance to lay claim to the job going forward and during the season, he averaged 5.7 yards per attempt. Dominic Richardson also went off for 169 yards on 23 carries against Baylor, so don’t count out the freshman either.

OSU QB Spencer Sanders can also run, as can King and that’s another thing to watch. The Cowboys know how to move the football and score points and Miami won’t be able to stop them all night, meaning the Cheez-It Bowl will turn into a shootout.

The question is, who will win that?
