2. Spencer Sanders out-duels D’Eriq King

Spencer Sanders hasn’t had the ideal sophomore season, but there’s one final chance for him to finish strong and put a stranglehold on that starting job heading into 2021.

Right now, there’s a split opinion about the starting job for the Cowboys. Is freshman Shane Illingworth the better option or should the staff stick with Sanders moving forward? Neither has really separated themselves this season but a strong showing from Sanders against Miami would put him in a commanding lead heading into a hopefully more normal year.

I think the Cowboys will get a big performance from Sanders in the Cheez-It Bowl as he utilizes his massive advantage of Tylan Wallace against just about anyone for nearly 200 yards and surpasses the 300-yard mark for the game with another 50-plus rushing.

D’Eriq King, on the other hand, has had a great year and just announced he’ll be returning in 2021. He’s facing essentially no pressure to have a breakout game and he may take the Cowboys’ defense lightly. That’ll be a mistake.

Sanders is going to shock everyone and out-duel King.
