4. Tony Gibson- NC State Defensive Coordinator

Tony Gibson is currently the defensive coordinator for NC State and was a longtime West Virginia assistant before that.

Gibson is known for how versatile and how hard his defenses play and he is one of the most well respected defensive coordinators in the country.

The main draw to hiring Gibson would be his long held connections in the state of West Virginia and Pennsylvania, which is vital in recruiting for Marshall.

If Marshall hired Gibson, it shouldn’t miss a beat on defense after being among the nations best this past season and the program shouldn’t miss a beat. This would be a hire that makes a lot of sense for the Thundering Herd. The only thing keeping Gibson from being higher on the list
