Aloha State defensive end

As a whole, Nebraska’s 2021 recruiting class is pretty strong. The Huskers have 20 players in a group that ranks 20th overall in the 2021 team rankings and fifth in the Big Ten.

But one area where the Huskers should continue to focus in the late period is along the defensive line as Nebraska football signed just two defensive lineman during the early period.

Ru’Quan Buckley is a guy that’s listed at 6-foot-6, 280 pounds and he could certainly be a defensive tackle but he’s the top-rated defensive end for NU in 2021. The other is Jailen Weaver, who is listed at 6-foot-8, 280 but is over 300 now according to 247 sports.

The Huskers don’t have a huge need on the defensive line with a number of players returning, but Zhen-Keith Sotelo is another recruit to watch and the three-star defensive end out of Hawaii is another realistic target.

He’s a strong-side end and is listed at 6-foot-4, 268 pounds and he’s also been selected to play in the Polynesian Bowl, alongside Mokiao-Atimalala. He’s raw and ranked just outside the top 1,000 but he certainly has the size Nebraska wants and would be a solid addition to the 2021 class.
