2021 NFL Mock Draft: First-round projections after national championship
Allen Robinson signed a lucrative three-year deal with the Bears in 2018 and it’s safe to say the move paid major dividends for both sides. The Bears got a true No. 1 receiver and Robinson had three of the best years of his NFL career, including two 1,000-yard campaigns in 2019 and 2020.
Robinson had 21 of his 39 career touchdowns while with the Bears and lived up to the hype, but his contract has run out and there’s an overwhelming feeling that he won’t be back in Chicago next year.
We’ll likely know more about Robinson’s future with the organization by the time the NFL Draft rolls around and if I had to venture a guess, I’d say the Bears will be looking for a receiver this offseason to replace him.
Is there a replacement for him on the roster as the No. 1 receiver? I just don’t think Darnell Mooney or Anthony Miller can fit that roll. That’s where Rashod Bateman comes into play. In his three years with Minnesota, he caught 147 passes for 2,395 yards and 19 touchdowns. He’s as well-rounded as any receiver in this class.
