OT. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 25. 52. Texas. Samuel Cosmi

Samuel Cosmi caused some controversy in Austin this season when he decided to opt out of the remainder of Texas’ regular season at the end of November and that was after he built his draft stock. He was mocked anywhere from the middle-to-late first round to as high as a top-10 pick.

While I think Cosmi’s ceiling is higher than some of the other linemen I’ve mocked in this first-round draft projection, he still has some work to do.

Earlier in the draft, the Jaguars hit a home run by picking franchise quarterback Trevor Lawrence and what better way to add insurance to that pick than by selecting his offensive tackle of the future? Cosmi looks more like a right tackle right now, but if he corrects some footwork issues, he could be that blindside protector.

Oh, and if you’re looking for size, Cosmi has it. He stands 6-foot-7 and 310 pounds. Lawrence would have no problems with Cosmi anchoring either the right or left side of his line for the foreseeable future.
