Speaking of Cortez Eatmon’s teammate who could join him in Starkville next year, JaDarrius Perkins is one of the most talented JUCO prospects in the country.

In fact, Perkins is listed as the No. 5 JUCO prospect in the nation and third-best cornerback, according to the composite, and he’d form a nice one-two punch for Mississippi State with Eatmon like they did at Mississippi Gulf Coast CC.

Perkins currently likes Mississippi State and the idea of joining his teammate in Starkville has to help the Bulldogs’ chances, but they’re being pushed by the likes of Oregon and Missouri. He may look at Eatmon likely picking Mississippi State as the potential for losing playing time if there’s a battle for the starting cornerback job.

Oregon looks like the leader right now, but don’t expect Mike Leach to quit on this one just yet, especially since that defense is going to need upgrades everywhere.
