Mississippi State Football: Top 3 remaining targets in 2021 recruiting class
Recruiting running backs has to be interesting for a coach like Mike Leach who doesn’t exactly utilize them as much as he probably should with his air-raid offense. But that hasn’t stopped him from going after one of the most talented uncommitted backs in the 2021 class in Ke’Travion Hargrove from Ruston, La.
Hargrove may be getting some info that Leach will utilize him more because he may realize that just passing the ball without having a rushing offense won’t win you any titles in the SEC — just ask Florida.
Mississippi State is the current favorite to land the four-star back from Louisiana who might actually have a seamless transition to Leach’s offense because he is excellent at catching passes out of the backfield which also may have sold him on the Bulldogs.
The Louisiana-native is planning to commit on Jan. 27 and there’s a good chance the Bulldogs will land him over the likes of Penn State and South Carolina.
Hargrove is the No. 170 overall prospect and ninth-best running back in the country, according to 247Sports.
