Oct. 2. Ole Miss Rebels. 5. player. 841. Pick Analysis. Scouting Report. Tuscaloosa (Ala.)

One of the only times that Alabama had to break a sweat last season was when they went to Oxford to face Ole Miss and former offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin who has generated a lot of excitement for the Rebels and is returning a lot of production from last season’s team.

Quarterback Matt Corral was one of the most exciting players in the SEC last season and looked like a natural fit in Kiffin’s offense. The Rebels will be missing wide out Elijah Moore, who was a record-breaking receiver for the Rebels last season.

This game has the potential to be another shootout, as  I don’t think Ole Miss will be especially good on defense again next year, but with Corral and Kiffin leading the offense, they should be able to score some points. I don’t think I can predict an upset in Tuscaloosa, but Alabama should give the Rebels their full attention.

Final Score: Alabama 49, Ole Miss 38 (5-0, 2-0)

Texas A&M Aggies. 6. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 873. Oct. 9. College Station (Texas)

This will be the most challenging two-game stretch of the season for Alabama, with Ole Miss the week before and then having to travel to Texas A&M the next week. The Aggies’ only defeat in 2020 came at the hands of Alabama and they will be looking to finally get over that hump and take down the Tide and make their claim in the SEC West.

The Aggies will once again be really good on the defensive side of the ball, with returning most of their production. The question on offense will be who replaces four-year starter Kellen Mond who was talented, but never put it all together while at A&M and if the Aggies could upgrade at the position, they could have a contender.

I think this will be Alabama’s toughest game of the regular season, but I don’t believe enough in their quarterbacks or Jimbo Fisher enough to believe they are ready to take down Alabama.

Final Score: Alabama 31, Texas A&M 24 (6-0, 3-0)
