Clemson Football: Way too early game predictions for 2021 season
This also has the potential to be Clemson’s toughest game on the schedule in the ACC and it was a close call last season. D.J Uiagalelei made his first start vs the Eagles last year and had a pretty solid game and led Clemson to the comeback win at home. Boston College is returning quarterback Phil Jurkovec and a talented receiving corps and are looking to build on their surprise season a year ago. The Eagles schedule is light enough that they should be undefeated heading into this game
Head coach Jeff Hafley seems to be putting the Eagles on the right path to being a good team in the ACC and is having success on the field and on the recruiting trail. Boston College was close a year ago and should be solid again, but that does not mean that I think they can go on the road and take down the Tigers. Clemson could start slow again in this game, but will finish with a convincing victory.
Final Score: Clemson 42, Boston College 20 (5-0, 3-0 ACC)
There was a time when Syracuse was the team in the ACC that gave Clemson the most trouble and would compete with them every year. These past two seasons have shown otherwise and Clemson will not be sleepwalking when they go to the Carrier Dome on a Friday night. The Orange are trying to regain their 2018 form, when they won 10 games and went to a bowl game. Head coach Dino Babers is probably on the hot seat to begin the year and it will be tough to get off of it.
The Tigers will be coming off a bye week and should be hitting their stride at this point in the season. It’s never easy to go on the road and win on a Friday night and the last time Clemson made the trip on a Friday, the Orange pulled the upset. That won’t be the case here and Clemson will roll to a victory over an overmatched Syracuse squad.
Final Score: Clemson 40, Syracuse 16 (6-0, 4-0 ACC)
