Michigan Football: Way too early predictions for 2021 schedule
Michigan will start off their October slate with a big road test vs Wisconsin, who embarrassed the Wolverines in Ann Arbor last season. While Wisconsin may have looked good in that game, they did not finish the season the way they normally do and enter this season with some questions marks, especially on offense. Badgers quarterback Graham Mertz had his moments last season, but also struggled at times and looked like the young quarterback that he is.
I expect Wisconsin to be the favorites in the west division again this season thanks to their defense, but they still have questions on offense. With the game being in Madison and Paul Chryst’s success against Jim Harbaugh, I think this is the spot where Michigan first drops a game in 2021.
Final Score: Michigan 21, Wisconsin 24 (4-1, 1-1)
After a tough loss to Wisconsin, Michigan will stay on the road and head to Lincoln to take on Nebraska and fourth-year head coach Scott Frost. Frost has underperformed so far in his return to his alma mater and he is hoping that this season he can show enough improvement to warrant another season with the Cornhuskers. Nebraska has questions at quarterback and on defense and those are never good questions to have in your fourth year at a program.
I think that Frost is a good coach, but I am starting to have serious doubts he ever wins big at Nebraska. I think that he walked into a tough job, but there is no evidence that he is ready to win big in Lincoln yet. I think Michigan will win this one on the road.
Final Score: Michigan 35, Nebraska 20 (5-1, 2-1)
