Texas A&M Football: 3 breakout candidates for 2021 season
Texas A&M might have one of the best receiving corps in the nation and whenever a guy like Demond Demas is barely in the two-deep, you know it’s going to be an explosive year.
The former five-star from Tomball, Texas, was ranked the No. 25 overall recruit in the 2020 class and third-best receiver had a quiet freshman season with the Aggies. He didn’t record any stats and now that he has a year of experience under his belt and outside of Ainias Smith and Chase Lane, there are no true experienced wide outs back with decent production.
Hezekiah Jones may be solid this season after finishing fifth on the team in receiving last season, catching 18 passes for 178 yards but I could see Demas becoming a star over the likes of Caleb Chapman and Moose Muhammad III.
Demas stands 6-3 and 180 pounds and has all the physical tools to become a star in the receiving corps for the Aggies. I could see him sneaking into that starting rotation by the end of the season.
How does he project? Well, 247Sports recruiting analyst Gabe Brooks compares him to DJ Chark and says he has future first-round talent. Not too shabby for a kid buried on the depth chart last season.
