Utah State feels like a far cry from its glory days a few years ago, but the Aggies hired Blake Anderson to turn the program back into one of the best in the Mountain West.

The Aggies finished just 1-5 last season and they seem to have fallen off completely from the Jordan Love days. Will things get better right away for a team returning 11 total starters? Probably not, but they can’t get much worse.

BYU wins another one comfortably to climb above .500.

Final Score: BYU 38, Utah State 17 (3-2)

Hank Bachmeier is one of the best quarterbacks in the Group of Five and he’s coming off a rocky 2020 season and he might just be battling USC transfer Jack Sears for the starting job — although I think he wins it easily.

The Broncos are consistently atop the Mountain West and 2021 will be no different.

Andy Avalos is coming over from Oregon to be the next head coach, replacing Bryan Harsin who took over at Auburn which means there could be growing pains.

I expect a really close game here, but BYU holds on at the end.

Final Score: Boise State 31, BYU 34 (4-2)
