#19: Texas Longhorns (9-3)

There isn’t an abundance of things to say about Texas. We have seen that they are a solid Big 12 talent, and seeing so again is the plan for 2021. However, the Longhorns certainly have their hiccups (such as their schedule to begin with).

With a slate including Iowa State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and so on, a regular-season tally of 9-3 is in no way something to hang your head in shame over.

#18: Penn State Nittany Lions (9-3)

Here we have yet another Big Ten team that defied expectations last year. Penn State had a shockingly horrendous start to 2020, all just to back it up with a late turnaround headlined by crucial victories. But is that enough to place them in these rankings?

Yes, they will just not be very high. PSU normally has the potential of being a top-12 team, but that is not the case here. Rather, they will be treated just like Michigan: given the benefit of the doubt despite randomly blowing chunks the year prior.

#17: Washington Huskies (9-3)

UW ripped off an impactful performance last season to help lead itself into this fall (relatively speaking), and quickly became a prominent name in discussions regarding who all had a chance to win the Pac-12 in December.

However, let’s tap the brakes some; it would be nice to see how the Huskies do in a full stretch. Most likely, they will do just fine, but not much better than that.
