QB is a huge problem

Outside of Nebraska constantly turning the ball over or getting called for stupid penalties, the biggest reason this program can’t win is the quarterback position.

Frost hitched his wagon to Adrian Martinez back in 2018 and it hasn’t proven to be a wise decision. For starters, Martinez has struggled to stay healthy and he hasn’t progressed from his freshman season.

Even though he accounted for 343 total yards, including 111 on the ground, it felt like an empty performance.

Multiple times in the first half, he missed guys that were wide open. One would have been an easy touchdown, while another would have been a huge gain. And these weren’t hard throws.

They were throws you would expect any Big Ten starter to make and Martinez wasn’t even close. He went 16-for-32 against a pass defense that isn’t good. The receivers struggled to get separation and outside of Martinez, the run game went nowhere.

In four years, Martinez still looks like a freshman and Frost has never been able to recruit anyone else capable of winning the job. It’s just baffling.
