Clemson Football: 3 predictions for Tigers against Georgia
Tough sledding on the ground
Even with Etienne last season, the Tigers only averaged 4.5 yards per carry and just over 150 yards. So it wasn’t a great rushing team even last season and with some younger, albeit talented backs, the running game could struggle Saturday.
Uiagalelei will help and he can be a dynamic option on the ground, more so than Trevor Lawrence who did most of his damage throwing, outside of some crucial runs, especially one that Ohio State fans will remember.
Back to Georgia. The Bulldogs are loaded in the front seven as Jordan Davis and Anthony Anderson are both All-American caliber players. On top of that, Georgia added some high-end talent in the secondary via the portal, which should make his defense extremely tough to move the ball against.
The pass rush will apply pressure on Uiagalelei, who will have to run more than he wants. That will lead to yards but also, potentially, some mistakes, as well as a lot of hits.
Georgia is also going to have a tough time running against Clemson’s front. Of course, it will be more about Daniels throwing the ball, and whichever team can create some balance and take pressure off the quarterback, will likely come out on top.
