Kevin Austin Jr. scores 1st Touchdown

If you have followed Notre Dame football then you know the name of Kevin Austin Jr and what he can bring to the team. Unfortunately, for Austin Jr., he has just not put it altogether for the Irish in recent years. The prized recruit came to Notre Dame with huge expectations overall and finally is ready to prove to the world why he was such a big-time recruit coming out of high school.

The talented junior wide receiver Kevin Austin Jr. has the size, speed, and athleticism that every college football program wants on their roster. The only issue with Austin Jr. is that he cannot show off his talents that helped bring him to Notre Dame when he has been unable to be on the actual field.

Austin Jr. missed the 2019 season due to a suspension from the team. and last year missed the first two games of the season to a foot injury.

Austin Jr. returned back to game action in 2020 but he literally caught a bad break. A few games into returning he re-injured his foot and broke his fifth metatarsal bone which he originally broke in the offseason prior to the 2020 season. That injury to his foot the second time ended his 2020 season overall.

After going through a tough rehab he is now listed to be one of the starters at wide receiver in the opener on Sunday. He will have a big game against Florida State and record the first touchdown of his college career. A lot of people may not be familiar with Austin Jr. or know who he is but after Sunday night the college football world will know his name.

Notre Dame does have some new pieces on the roster, but Notre Dame is also too talented to slip up and be surprised by Florida State. The Irish will get off to a quick start on offense, and the defense will be solid as well in Marcus Freeman’s debut as the defensive coordinator.
