Georgia Football: 3 takeaways from massive win over Clemson
Georgia might have the country’s best defense
In a game, that close, one mistake or one big play is often the difference and Smith’s interception returned 74 yards, was the defining play of the game.
It was the only touchdown of the game and outside of two field goals, the only points. Yet, the Bulldogs defense did much more than forcing a game-changing interception.
Everyone knows that the best pass coverage is a dominant pass rush. It’s a lesson we have learned over and over during the years and Saturday against Clemson, Georgia football looked like it might have the best pass rush in the country.
The Bulldogs just flat-out dominated. The seven sacks weren’t the most impressive number…well potentially because Clemson was also limited to just two yards on 23 carries.
Clemson didn’t even reach four yards per play and was limited to 180 total. When is the last time someone made Clemson look that bad?
Georgia football fans had the feeling this team might be something special and Saturday reinforced that idea.
