1. Both the Rattlers and the Tigers have new starting quarterbacks.

Jackson State: It was inevitable that freshman quarterback Sheduer Sanders would start at quarterback. His father flipped him from Florida Atlantic. Neither Jalon Jones nor Quincy Casey played lights out enough over the spring to take the job from Sanders.

Sanders is no slouch, however. He comes to Jackson State a four-star recruit with a couple of state titles and several school records. However, the younger Sanders has yet to prove it on the field. The ability is there and Sanders has some weapons around him.

Florida State transfer Isaiah Bolden leads a group of transfer receivers that also includes Louisville transfer Corey Reed and Houston transfer Keith Corbin.

Florida A&M: It is one thing to replace a really good quarterback who played well for your program, it is quite another to replace a quarterback who holds practically all of your school’s passing records.

Ryan Stanley is statistically the most prolific passer in Rattlers’ history. The question in Tallahassee is, “who is going to play quarterback this fall?” Florida A&M has five candidates for the position so far.

Offensive coordinator and quarterback’s coach KJ Black is keeping a tight lid on who has the edge on tomorrow’s starter. It is likely it won’t be until tomorrow that we find out who starts for the Rattlers.
