Another 1-0 team making their way down the rankings, Arkansas falls two spots after needing to really rally to beat the likes of Rice.

This game should have been a blowout from the start, but instead, we got a struggle to do much of anything at the start of the game and the need of a 21 point fourth quarter to really put the Owls away.

Now, they face off against the Longhorns at home and things may get worse for the Gamecocks before they get better.

A shutout of Eastern Illinois brings the Gamecocks up two spots to No. 11 in the power rankings. Graduate quarterback Zeb Noland did relatively well and things are semi-looking up in Columbia.

Do I believe that the Gamecocks will do much of anything in SEC play? Not as of yet, but they will easily knock off Eastern Carolina on Saturday, so the South Carolina faithful will have another week to wave their towels and yell exciting things before the real thing begins.
