2. The defense saved the day for the Aggies

We have already established that the Aggie offense had many struggles throughout the day without Haynes King. Because of that, the game could have gotten out of hand in a hurry.

However, the Aggie defense made sure that their team stayed in this game. They forced punt after punt, not allowing Colorado to score after their first touchdown, keeping this game within reach.

DeMarvin Leal, Jayden Peevy, and Antonio Johnson were extremely strong for the Aggies. They showed up and showed out, keeping Texas A&M in the game.

There were surely other guys that contributed, but those three really were the big-time playmakers. Peevy came back for his super senior year to win the championship and he made sure that he made the plays required to win this game.
