14. Florida State Seminoles (0-2)

After being gritty and tough against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the season’s first game, the Florida State Seminoles were flat in their loss against Jacksonville State last weekend. Their 20-17 loss on a last-second touchdown pass left the Seminoles 0-2 and reeling.

This week does not get any easier for Florida State as they take on Wake Forest. Offensively, Florida State has to figure out who will play quarterback and get the ball downfield to take pressure off of a running game that has been pretty good so far.

13. Syracuse Orange (1-1)

After a solid opening win against the Ohio Bobcats, Syracuse fell short against Rutgers last. Despite showing life defensively, the offensive line still leaves lots to be desired. Rutgers had five sacks against Syracuse last week, and Sean Tucker had just 54 rushing yards after a 181-yard performance the week before.

The offensive line seems to be the root cause of the struggles for the Orange. It is hard to get the ball to your playmakers outside when you do not have time to throw the football. The Orange have FCS Albany this week before a rematch against Liberty on September 24th.

12. Duke Blue Devils (1-1)

Duke got back on track with a 45-17 win against North Carolina A&T last week. The offense had another solid outing as they did in their opening loss to Charlotte. What does this mean for the Blue Devils?

Their home game against Northwestern is crucial. It is never easy to move the football against Northwestern’s consistently solid, sound defense. Duke should have little issue against Northwestern’s anemic offense. Can they score some points? That’s the question.
