Kansas was not able to get the job done in South Carolina, but not for a lack of trying. The Jayhawks were incredibly aggressive in this contest, going 0-for-5 on fourth down. In the end, they dropped this game to Coastal Carolina by a score of 49-22.

Jason Bean has been a solid dual threat playmaker for Kansas, but needs more help. Bean leads the team in passing, rushing, and total touchdowns through the first two weeks.

True freshman Devin Neal out-carried and out-gained Velton Gardner during this game. After Gardner’s struggles through the first two games, it will be interesting to see who emerges as the true bell-cow of this offense.

Next Game: vs. Baylor

When you schedule LIU Post, you get Country Roads queued up to play shortly after. West Virginia was able to take care of business with a 66-0 win on their first home game of the year.

The Mountaineers needed this game, as their next two games are against teams in the top 15. Their offense has played well thus far led by veteran quarterback Jarret Doege.

Winston Wright has also emerged as a weapon for the Mountaineers. He kicked off the LIU game with a 90 yard return touchdown on the opening kickoff. Wright leads the team in receptions thus far and has added 101 yards to his stat sheet.

West Virginia has a major chance to bounce up these rankings if they can secure a win over Virginia Tech this Saturday. A loss would put them at 1-2 on the verge of a primetime showdown with Oklahoma in two weeks.

Next Game: vs. No. 15 Virginia Tech
