2. Minnesota at Colorado

Even though it was scheduled before The Alliance was formed, Minnesota at Colorado is a solid matchup and a rare one at that between the two schools. In only their fourth meeting with the Buffaloes, the Gophers are looking for their first win in the series.

In Week 1 Minnesota had Ohio State on the ropes before eventually losing to the Buckeyes. Even worse than what was predicted as a loss was the season ending injury to star running back Mohamed Ibrahim. While the Gophers struggled against Miami University last week, they eventually got the victory.

Colorado cruised to victory against Northern Colorado to begin the season. Last week the Buffaloes fought hard in a offensive struggle against Texas A&M. There is no shame in losing by three points to a top 10 team. The Buffaloes defense looks to be legit.

The Buffaloes should be prepared for another defensive fight this week. Probably not a whole a lot of points will be scored here and it should be close. If you like offenses maybe skip this game but for the defensive gurus, this one will be for you. Which ever defense can create a timely turnover and give their offense a short field to work with, it could make all the difference.
