1. Kyren Williams finally looked like his 2020 self

For the firs time this season, Kyren Williams looked like his 2020 self, rushing for 91 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries. He averaged 7.6 yards per touch and even broke off a 51-yarder. He looked like the guy we all expected at the beginning of the season and while the Heisman Trophy is likely off the table after a slow start, he can feel better and more confident heading into a torrid stretch of games.

This was the exact type of performance Williams needed against Purdue to gain confidence before facing a tough Wisconsin defense and the offensive line deserves props as well.

Jack Coan had a decent game through the air, but having Williams to rely on behind him has to be a comforting feeling. He only touched the ball 12 times on the ground while catching two passes for 47 yards and a touchdown as he looked like his 2020 self. He didn’t need to do too much but was incredibly effective when he did get the ball.

Notre Dame needs to utilize Williams more if it’s going to have success in the upcoming stretch and after his best game of the season, it’s time to feed him the rock.
