Loser: Virginia Tech (Unranked)

The Hokies are losers from Saturday, but they still have a lot to play for this season.

After an impressive victory over North Carolina in the opening week and that gave Virginia Tech a big leg up in the Coastal division. The Hokies traveled to Morgantown to play the Mountaineers on Saturday and their inability to stop the run led to the Hokies falling to 2-1 on the season.

The goals for Virginia Tech are still in front of them for the season, though. They have an edge in the ACC Coastal because of their victory over North Carolina and teams like Miami, Pitt, and Virginia all looked shaky this past weekend. This is not a perfect team, but it should still be the favorite in the Coastal.

Loser: Arizona State (Unranked)

The Sun Devils had a chance to take a step forward in the Pac-12 South but failed to capitalize on their opportunity Saturday night versus BYU. ASU has been disappointing in terms of expectations in the past couple of seasons and this is another disappointing result.

With Utah looking shaky, UCLA losing, and USC firing Clay Helton, this was a perfect opportunity for Arizona State to step up and take lead in the division.

Because this was a non-conference game, there is still plenty of opportunity for Arizona State this season to get things going, but they still are too inconsistent on offense for anyone to take them too seriously.
