Nebraska Football: 3 Reasons Huskers will upset Michigan State
Adrian Martinez will have a day
Outside of a few errant throws, a fumble against Illinois, and the interception against Oklahoma, Adrian Martinez has been stellar.
On top of throwing for 1,017 yards and five touchdowns, he’s also Nebraska’s leading rusher with 290 yards and four touchdowns.
Defensively, Michigan State is allowing just 17 points per game and has three interceptions to its credit. But the competition hasn’t been as good as it looks and the Spartans still allow 269 yards per game through the air as well as 1.7 touchdowns.
Nebraska averages 280 yards per game through the air and Martinez is going to make some plays with his feet too. It’s been one of his best weapons and a few long runs at the right time could help the Huskers pull a much-needed upset on Saturday.
Martinez can’t do it all and he’s going to need some kind of help from the running backs and offensive line, but he will have a stellar day against the Spartans.
