Georgia Football: 3 takeaways from decisive win over Vanderbilt
2. The ground game and offensive line looked improved
The one thing that the Bulldogs have struggled to do on the season is run the football consistently. They spread the ball around to their different playmakers in the backfield and looked effective in doing so. The offensive line looked more cohesive and should be a unit that improves as the season goes on.
The effort on the ground was led by Zamir White, who had 48 yards on only nine carries. That might not seem like an eye-popping number yards-wise, but on only nine carries, that will do. The UGA offense is going to have to have the ability to run the football in games against better opponents, including next week when Arkansas comes to town.
This is a talented backfield that Georgia has and they are going to want to lean on them when they are trying to put games away. Whether it is James Cook, White, McIntosh, or Milton, the Bulldogs have plenty of talent in the backfield to lean on.
Expect this group to continue to improve, as well as the offensive line.
