No. 2 Biggest college football upset of Week 4

Georgia Tech upset No. 21 North Carolina 45-22

UNC, powered by star QB Sam Howell, continues to disappoint after huge preseason expectations for the Tar Heels. UNC lost earlier in the season to Virginia Tech and now they suffer a blowout to the Yellow Jackets.

Georgia Tech entered this game 1-2, with a win against Kennesaw State and losses to Northern Illinois (by one point) and Clemson (by six points).

Howell lost three fumbles during this game, making it difficult to garner any momentum to put together scoring drives. When he did have the ball, he was able to connect with seven different receivers, throwing for 306 yards and 2 touchdown passes.

Georgia Tech wore down the Tar Heel defense, rushing for 261 yards, creating a few passing lanes for QB Jeff Sims to operate. Sims finished the game 10 of 13 for 112 yards and a touchdown. He also used 10 carries to pick up 128 yards and 3 touchdowns.

No. 1 Biggest college football upset of Week 4

NC State upset No. 9 Clemson 27-21 in 2OT

The NC State Wolfpack pushed Clemson to its limit in this ACC conference game, needing two overtime periods to dispatch the 2018 College Football Playoff Champion Clemson Tigers.

The post-Trevor Lawrence era for Clemson is off to a rough start. QB DJ Uiagelelei is giving maximum effort but has to work on his efficiency. He only connected on 46.2% of his passes against NC State. His other games this season saw completion percentages of 51.4%, 58.3%, and 72%.

It took a huge effort from NC State sophomore QB Devin Leary to knock off the ranked Clemson squad. Leary connected on 32 of his 44 pass attempts, for 238 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Clemson faces Boston College next week and NC State will try to use this momentum to take on Louisiana Tech.
