SEC Football Power Rankings, Week 5: Arkansas pushing for top spot
By Shelbie Warr
Vanderbilt remains at the bottom of the conference after being absolutely annihilated by Georgia. There is not much hope for the Commodores moving up past this spot, despite playing an abysmal UConn team this week. I can’t imagine that Vanderbilt will win more than one more game this year and that is being nice. I’m sorry ‘Dores, but you know the season is over for you.
The Bulldogs nearly beat LSU on Saturday, but the Tigers were able to grab a victory in Starkville. Now, they head to Kyle Field to take on a struggling, yet still top 15 Texas A&M team. Can Will Rogers and his team figure things out and move up the power rankings with an upset win on Saturday that would send Aggie fans into a tailspin? I don’t anticipate it, but crazier things have happened.
The Gamecocks fell to Kentucky this week in a game that was full of Wildcat turnovers. You would think that with three turnovers, South Carolina would have won, but that isn’t what happened. South Carolina could only muster 10 points in what was an extremely sloppy game for both sides. I don’t see it getting any easier for the Gamecocks either, even if they only face off against Troy this week.
