SEC Football Power Rankings, Week 5: Arkansas pushing for top spot
By Shelbie Warr
The Georiga Bulldogs are coming off absolute annihilation of the Vanderbilt Commodores and now prepare to take on Arkansas who, had you asked me at the start of the season, wouldn’t be a worry.
Now though, the team lead by KJ Jefferson and Treylon Burks could easily knock off Georgia if everything goes right for them. This will be the best defense that Arkansas has seen to date though and if Georgia can shut down Burks and Jefferson, things will be pretty good for the Bulldogs.
The Crimson Tide is still No. 1, but Georgia is hot on their tails. If they were to fall to Ole Miss this weekend, expect that change up to happen sooner rather than later. I am not sure that the Alabama defense can keep up with Matt Corral and his offense. They struggled with it a season ago and now their defense isn’t up to the same expectations that they used to be.
Look for this week to be an important one for the Tide. They need to show that they can compete offensively and defensively at a high level or they may just be in trouble this season.
