1. Texas A&M goes 3-1 with one-score loss to Alabama

Texas A&M has a relatively favorable schedule in October outside of that Oct. 9 matchup against Alabama. Luckily, that game against the No. 1 team in the country is at home, but unfortunately, it’s going to be taking place without Haynes King so there will be no Johnny Football feel to it.

Zach Calzada probably starts the Alabama game after a decent showing against Mississippi State in a winning effort, but we will see a move to Eli Stowers in the middle of the Alabama game as he struggles and the young freshman will lead the Aggies to a near-comeback effort.

Texas A&M will be down 17 points at halftime when Jimbo Fisher makes the quarterback change and Stowers will lead the Aggies back into it. They’ll eventually lose, but it’ll be a one-score game and it’ll surely turn some heads.

The Aggies will win the rest of the games against Missouri and South Carolina to end the month with a 3-1 record and they may flirt with a top-10 ranking even as a two-loss team just because of that Alabama effort.

Overall, not a bad month for the Aggies after a sour finish to September.
