1. BYU might be the top non-Power Five team in the nation

This might seem like a hot take, but we will find out fairly soon if Cincinnati is worthy of that No. 1 spot outside of the Power Five to make a New Year’s Six bowl. At this rate, BYU might just make the New Year’s Six as an at-large bid.

Down two quarterbacks on the road, the Cougars held on for a two-score win and Kalani Sitake has to feel good about that.

The Cougars were tough all night long on defense and in a tough atmosphere at Maverik Stadium, they weren’t fazed. They didn’t shy away from the big stage and even when they had to rely on a freshman quarterback for the final two quarters, they only extended their lead. This tough road win is exactly what elite teams do.

Tyler Allgeier looked like one of the best running backs in the country, BYU has proven to have three solid quarterbacks, the receiving corps is really solid, and the defense is stingy. BYU has a ton of momentum heading into a Boise State battle in Week 6.

BYU may just be the best non-Power Five team in the country.
