Liberty took out their frustrations of losing to Syracuse by spoiling UAB’s first game in their brand new stadium. Liberty went into the half tied with UAB 3-3, but turned up the heat in the second half, outscoring the Blazers 33-9 in the second half. Liberty turns their attention now to MTSU for their first home game since Week 3.

Week 5 Status: Lost 24-27 to Hawaii
Fresno State made the tough 2,500 mile trip to Honolulu to face the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors and for the first three-quarters of the game, looked like the No. 18 team in the country. However, the Bulldogs went ice cold in the fourth quarter, scoring zero points. Hawaii scored 17 points in the fourth and got a game-winning interception at the two-yard line to preserve victory over Fresno State.

Wyoming had a bye in Week 5, using that time to prepare for a very good Air Force football team. The Cowboys will hit the road to the United States Air Force Academy to try and knock off the Falcons in a high-stakes conference game.

Appalachian State looks like a top-ranked team in the country, evident by the team receiving votes in both polls heading into Week 6 of college football. The Mountaineers lone loss this season was a two-point loss to Miami, who was ranked at the time. An intriguing Tuesday night game against the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns is next, set for Oct. 12 at 7:30 PM ET on ESPN2.

UTSA is one of the most exciting success stories of all the teams in the Group of Five. Their football program is only 10 years old and they’ve already become a dominant force in Conference USA football. The Roadrunners have quality wins against Illinois and Memphis this season, both of which were road games. UTSA is going to see if they can get another quality road win when they take on Western Kentucky this week. Running back Sincere McCormick is 11th in the country for total rushing yards with 541.
