After winning the Battle for the Iron Skillet last week, SMU earned a blow-out victory over South Florida. Voters liked the huge win, ranking them No. 24 in both college football polls. QB Tanner Mordecai continues to raise his profile by leading the country with the most touchdown passes thrown this season (24).

Week 5 Status: Won 59-6 vs UL-Monroe
Coastal Carolina obliterated Louisiana-Monroe by a whopping 53 points. The Chanticleers are a fun team to watch and certainly will be for casual college football fans when they take on conference foe Arkansas State on Oct. 7 at 7:30 PM ET on ESPNU. The ‘Chants will likely light up a Red Wolves team that is allowing 563.8 yards per game, according to statistics from ESPN.

Week 5 Status: Won 34-20 vs Utah State
BYU continues to show why they are one of the best Group of Five teams in the country, earning a quality conference win over Utah State. The Cougars turn their attention to Boise State, who’s better than their 2-3 record. The Broncos’ three losses were by an average of 5.3 points. It’s likely why this game will be played on ABC Oct. 9 at 3:30 PM ET.

The Cincinnati Bearcats have once again topped our Group of Five rankings. The ‘Cats are not just one of the best teams among the Group of Five—they’re one of the best teams in the country period. They beat a top-10 team in Notre Dame by double digits, but need to move their attention quickly to conference foe Temple. Cincinnati is on a short week of rest as this game will be played in prime-time on ESPN on Oct. 8 at 7 PM ET.
