Linebacker Cal Haladay and Cornerback Chester Kimbrough

Michigan State football was down 3-0 with under five minutes left in the first quarter when Cal Haladay helped changed that.

Linebacker Cal Haladay was the first of two Spartans to pick off Hoosiers quarterback Jack Tuttle on the day. Haladay not only picked it off for an interception but returned it for 30 yards for a Michigan State touchdown to take a 7-3 lead. Cal Haladay finished with 7 total tackles and the pick-six interception.

It was late in the fourth quarter and the Indiana Hoosiers were only down by five. The Michigan State defense already forced two turnovers but needed to try and make one more big play. Chester Kimbrough was in the right place at the right time for the Spartans.

Chester Kimbrough delivered in the fourth quarter to help get the ball back for Michigan Stare and secure its seventh win of the season.

The junior cornerback disguised the corner blitz well and not only stripped quarterback Jack Tuttle but recovered the fumble as well. Usually getting the strip-sack is enough, but being able to get on top of the ball and recover it for your team is impressive and is why I think he deserves one of the game balls for Michigan State on the day.

Kimbrough finished the day with four tackles, including the strip-sack and recovery on the day.
